The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the online form for the UP Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026. UPTET is the state-level qualifying examination for candidates aspiring to become teachers in Uttar Pradesh, conducted at two levels — Primary (classes 1–5) and Upper Primary (classes 6–8).

Online applications are open from 27 March 2026 to 3 May 2026, with fee payment closing on the same last date. Candidates can apply for one or both levels depending on their qualification.

Who can apply: for the Primary level, candidates need a graduation degree along with a teacher-training qualification such as BTC, D.El.Ed or B.El.Ed; for the Upper Primary level, a graduation degree with B.Ed/BTC/B.El.Ed (or equivalent). Generally a minimum of around 50% marks is required, with relaxation for reserved categories; final-year students may also be eligible as per the rules.

The application fee is ₹1,000 for General/EWS/OBC candidates, ₹500 for SC/ST and ₹300 for PH candidates, paid online. Keep your photo, signature, mark sheets and category/other certificates scanned and ready before you start.
