Supreme Court of India has released the official notification for the recruitment of Junior Court Assistant (JCA) posts. Under this recruitment, a total of 250 Junior Court Assistant posts (Tentative) will be filled with eligible Indian citizens. The post comes under the Group-B, Non-Gazetted category, and selected candidates will be appointed in the Registry of the Supreme Court of India. The official advertisement for this recruitment was released on 30 September 2026. The online application process for Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant Recruitment 2026 will start from 7 October 2026, and interested candidates will be able to apply online until 28 October 2026, up to 11:55 PM. Candidates will have to submit their applications online through the official website of the Supreme Court of India. For this recruitment, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation Degree) from a recognized university in India. Candidates must also have knowledge of computer operations and a minimum English typing speed of 35 words per minute (35 w.p.m.) on a computer. Regarding the age limit, candidates must be at least 18 years old and not more than 30 years old as on 1 September 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories and other eligible categories as per Government of India rules. Selected candidates for this post will receive a salary according to Pay Matrix Level-6, with an initial Basic Pay of ₹35,400, along with various allowances as applicable. Regarding the application fee, ₹1,500 has been prescribed for candidates belonging to the General/Unreserved category, while ₹750 is applicable to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-Servicemen and Physically Challenged candidates. Bank charges may also be applicable. The application fee must be paid through online mode. The selection of candidates will be conducted through multiple stages. First, candidates will appear for an Objective Type Test, which will include questions related to General English, General Aptitude, General Knowledge, provisions related to the Judiciary under the Indian Constitution, Supreme Court Rules, 2013, Supreme Court Officers and Servants Rules, 1961, and Computer Knowledge. This will be followed by an English Typing Speed Test on Computer, Descriptive Written Test, and Interview. The Objective Test will carry 100 marks, the Typing Test 50 marks, the Descriptive Written Test 100 marks, and the Interview 25 marks. After completing the Objective Test, Typing Speed Test, Descriptive Written Test, and Interview, eligible candidates will be selected for the post of Junior Court Assistant.
