Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU), Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has released the official notification for Teaching Posts Recruitment 2026. The recruitment has been issued under Advertisement No. CSJMU/Gen.Admin/980/Teaching/2026, dated 26 September 2026. Through this recruitment, eligible candidates will be appointed to a total of 36 Teaching Posts in various departments of the university, including Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor. Therefore, the requirements for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor may differ in terms of educational qualifications, teaching experience, NET/PhD requirements, Research/API Score, etc. Candidates must fulfil all the eligibility conditions prescribed for the particular post and subject for which they are applying. Regarding the age limit, the recruitment notification does not prescribe a separate fixed minimum or maximum age limit in the usual manner. Matters related to service age, Superannuation (retirement), etc., will be governed by the applicable rules of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. For posts such as Professor and Associate Professor, greater emphasis is placed on the prescribed educational qualifications, teaching experience, and Research/API Score. The application fee is ₹2,500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹2,000 for SC/ST candidates. If a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post or department, a separate application and prescribed fee must be submitted for each post. The selection process is different for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor posts. For Assistant Professor, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their Academic Score/API Score, followed by a 40-mark Objective Written Test. After the written test, candidates will go through Teaching Skill Assessment and Interview. For Associate Professor and Professor posts, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their Academic/API/Research Score, followed mainly by an Interview. Candidates applying for certain Music-related posts may also be required to undergo a separate Music Skill Assessment. Regarding the written examination, there will be a Written Examination for Assistant Professor posts. However, there is no separate conventional written examination mentioned for Professor and Associate Professor posts. For these posts, the selection will primarily be based on Academic/API/Research Score and Interview. The Assistant Professor written test will be an objective-type test based on subject knowledge. The examination date is expected to be announced later by the university.
