Many people register on it expecting a government job, and are then unsure what to do next. This guide explains what the portal actually offers, how to register step by step, and how it differs from the bodies that recruit for government posts.
What is the Sewayojan portal?
The portal, at sewayojan.up.nic.in, is run by the Directorate of Training and Employment (प्रशिक्षण एवं सेवायोजन विभाग), Uttar Pradesh — the department that runs the state's employment exchanges. It brings the employment-exchange services online:
- Job-seeker registration — a single profile with your education and skills.
- Job listings from registered employers, mostly in the private sector.
- Rozgar Melas (रोजगार मेला) — job fairs held in districts, where companies interview on the spot.

Is it a government job portal?
This is the most important point: registering on Sewayojan does not apply you for UP government jobs. Government posts in UP are filled by separate recruitment bodies, each with its own application process:
- UPSSSC — Group C posts such as Lekhpal, VDO, junior assistant (uses a one-time registration and the PET score)
- UPPSC — PCS and other gazetted posts, lecturers, engineers
- UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board — constable, SI and other police posts
- UPESSC and the Basic Education Department — teaching posts
Think of Sewayojan as a place to find private jobs, apprenticeships and job fairs in your district, alongside — not instead of — applying to government recruitments.
How to register as a job seeker
- Open sewayojan.up.nic.in and choose the job seeker (अभ्यर्थी) registration option.
- Enter your name, mobile number and email ID, and verify with the OTP sent to you.
- Create a password and log in.
- Complete your profile: personal details, address and district, educational qualifications with marks, technical qualifications (ITI, diploma), skills, work experience and the kind of job you want.

- Keep your profile updated when you pass a new exam or complete a course — employers filter by qualification.
- Check messages on your registered mobile and email for interview calls.

- Genuine employers on the portal do not ask for money to give you a job or an interview.
- Do not pay "registration" or "security" fees to agents claiming to be from Sewayojan.
